DEAR DR. GOTT: I am a 50-year-old female in relatively good health except for severe arthritis pain in both my hands. This had been going for the last couple of years until a neighbor suggested I try drinking a mixture of Bratts apple cider vinegar with “mothers” (16-ounce bottle), Welch’s grape juice concentrate (12-ounce can mixed with three cans of water) and Tree Top apple juice concentrate (12-ounce can mixed with three cans of water).
I now drink a four-ounce glass, three times a day and have been virtually pain free. Prior to this I was taking up to five Lortabs per day and now I don’t need so much as an aspirin. This drink has changed my life. I hope you will print this so that others can benefit from this drink, too.
DEAR READER: Arthritis is a common problem, especially as we age. The knees, hips, back and hands are most commonly affected and can cause minimal pain or severe, sometimes, disabling pain. I receive hundreds of requests looking for a way to relieve to pain, primarily, through natural or home remedies.
Some of the most popular include castor oil rubs, Castiva, and purple grape juice with pectin. Others achieve adequate relief from over-the-counter drugs (such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen), physical or occupational therapy, exercise, especially low impact, such as walking or water aerobics, and prescription pain relievers.
I am printing your letter in the hopes that this may be another easy remedy for arthritis pain. I am unfamiliar with two of the products you mention and this is likely based on geographical differences. It is my assumption (as it usually proves to be true) that similar products may be used with equally positive results. Store-brand products are comparable to name-brands and are less expensive. In this economy that is especially important.
So readers, let me know your results if you try this remedy. I will be sure to print a follow-up article with the results, positive or negative.
